If you’ve been itching to try out Dragonball Xenoverse 2 but just couldn’t part with your hard-earned cash, you’ll be happy to know that a free “Lite” version of the game is set to hit all platforms this Wednesday, March 20.

Xenoverse 2 was well received when it first launched back in 2016, offering players a hefty fighting game that included insane customization, an original story that explored the Dragon Ball mythos and a surprisingly deep experience thanks to some RPG elements and collectables aplenty. For those who never got around to playing it, though Bandai Namco wants to make things a little easier on you.

The publisher this week sent out a press release announcing the impending arrival of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Lite, which you can basically think of as a glorified demo offering access to a decent slice of the full game’s content and no upfront cost. The same thing happened recently with 6 Dead or Alive y Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, so it’s a great time to be a fighting fan who prefers to take games for a test drive before they fork over any cash.

While there’s no word on a possible Lite versión de Xenoverse for PC or Switch just yet, gamers on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One can download it free of charge to enjoy five story missions from the main game, as well as a bunch of extras. For starters, you’ll be able to play in Online Battles and Online Quests and, yep, you’ll be able to play with folks who own the full version of the game, too. If you want to dive into ongoing events or tackle expert missions, though, you’ll need to pony up for the full game.

And, as is common with these types of promotions, any saved data and progress you make in the Lite version will transfer over to the full version, if you eventually decide to make the purchase.
