Square Enix confirma que Studio Istolia está cerrado y el proyecto Prelude Rune cancelado

Square Enix has confirmed that the disappearance of Studio Istolia and its game Proyecto preludio de la runa coincides with speculations. Studio Istolia has closed, and Proyecto preludio de la runa is canceled according to a response that Square Enix issued out as of today.

Página web usgamer.net reached out to Square Enix on whether or not the studio and game went belly up, and the company issued the following response to the publication site:

“Following evaluation of various aspects of Project Prelude Rune, development of the title has been canceled. Studio Istolia is no longer in operation and we have been taking appropriate steps to assign studio staff to other projects within the Square Enix Group.”

The website issued out the response to the query after “yesterday’s mysterious disappearance of Studio Istolia and its game.” And lo and behold, both Studio Istolia and Proyecto preludio de la runa no hizo el corte.

If the studio and project seem unfamiliar to you, Square Enix announced the new role-playing game and studio back on February 21st, 2017.

Hideo Baba, the former producer with Bandai Namco’s popular Tales series, was president of Studio Istolia. The studio is reported by the website to have “hit rough waters when Baba departed to make room for the next generation.” After said move, Project Prelude Rune’s trailer is now deleted from Square Enix’s YouTube channel making this past quote by Square Enix obsolete:

“The project aims to build a new RPG with a new fantasy: unfolding across a vast land teeming with life. Nurtured by the earth, the many peoples of this land dare to dream, fighting for what is just — and this is their tale.

The aim of the studio is to provide unforgettable stories that will inspire players in their own lives, and bring new game experiences to everyone around the world.”

The now-canceled game in question had no launch window and is now a thing of the past.
