Le Cartel Studio and Devolver Digital’s Madre Rusia sangra finally has a release date set in stone. The game will launch on September 5th for $14.99. The game currently has a 10% off pre-purchase promotion going on right now where you can get the game for only $13.49.
Steam has been sending out notices to let gamers know that one of the most highly anticipated beat-’em-up games due out this generation is finally prepped to launch next month.
The game sees players in the role of Ivan, Sergei, Natasha and Boris as they battle against the drug-laden underworld of Russian corruption. I don’t know if there’s another game out there right now with more grit than Madre Rusia sangra.
The game sports up to four players playing cooperatively through the gory streets of an alternate reality U.S.S.R.
The system requirements for this game are low-tier enough that just about anything made within the last two years should be able to run the game with ease. 2GB of RAM, a dual core CPU and a 9500 GT or a Radeon HD 6450 is enough to boot up and run the game.
I can already imagine various countries wanting to ban this game, and that’s just more reason to love everything that Le Cartel Studio is doing. I can’t remember a beat-’em-up game this hardcore since Vendetta. A lot of games have tried to keep it conservative and limit how far they go with their content, but Le Cartel is moving in the opposite direction; pushing the envelop as they tell a story about drugs, violence, crime and redemption.
In addition to the standard edition being available for pre-purchase ahead of the September 5th release, there’s a Dealer’s Edition that comes with an extra copy of the game, a digital soundtrack by artist Fixions and a behind-the-scenes mini documentary covering the development of the sprite-based beat-’em-up.
