El tráiler de Jump Force GamesCom presenta a Vegeta, Gon y Sanji

Bandai Namco lanzó un nuevo tráiler de Jump Force during this year’s GamesCom taking place in Cologne, Germany. The minute and a half trailer focuses on the Dragon Ball characters featured in the cross-branded 3D fighting game, giving gamers a look at Son Goku and Vegeta in action, along with a brief look at Gon.

The trailer starts with a brief flyby of a few of the stages, all of which are rendered in high-quality assets, looking more like concept art or 3D printed fabricates rather than a game. It’s a very different kind of art-style compared to the cel-shaded designs that most Shonen Jump Bandai Namco fighting games are known for.

We see Goku, Luffy, and Naruto beating the crap out of Frieza, along with a few of the characters from Bleach y One Piece.

The trailer rounds out by stating that amidst the worlds colliding a “new hero” will rise. Is it possible that Bandai Namco will be introducing a brand new character into the fold?

Gameplay wise it’s hard to pinpoint a comparison. It’s not like the Budokai Tenkaichi series, and it’s far more technical than the Xenoverse games; nor is it entirely like the Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm games given that the fighting takes place in arenas that are a lot more spacious and offer enough room to make full use of many of the characters’ projectile abilities. I suppose some comparisons could be drawn toward the One Piece games, but it’s not a beat-’em-up title.

Depending on how the gameplay is handled and whether or not they can maintain some full-on 60fps action will ultimately depend on how popular Jump Force will become. Right now Dragon Ball FighterZ is at the top of the crop as a high-end, high-impact fighter.

Bandai is taking their time with unveiling new characters and rolling out new details on Jump Force. It has a ways to go before it releases so we can expect more content to drop leading up to its 2019 release.
